Ice cream marunggay flavor of MMSU funded by Commissioner Defensor

Commissioner Nenalin T. Defensor of the Commission of Higher Education expressed hope of the continuous production of Ice Cream Marunggay flavor at Mariano Marcos State University out of the P180,000.00 she handed over to President Miriam Pascua as seed money to augment income from viand resources.

Kuna ti commissionado a rebbeng laeng a mapunduan daytoy a produkto ken pataud ti MMSU agsipud ta naisalsalumina ti ramanna, adda pay ala iloko ti sabor na agsipud ta marunggay ngarud a nateng ti amianan ti naakseptar metten ti sibubukel a pagilyan.

Commissioner Defensor was impressed of the taste and flavor of the Marunggay Ice Cream that was served in one of the meetings in Metro Manila. Since then, she proposed the idea of funding the production and seconded by Commissioner Satur Ocampo, the predecessor of the new president, Dr. Pascua. Besides the taste and flavor of the Marunggay Ice Cream, it also passes through quality control test machine that made it an exemplary product.

Other products of MMSU eying to expand volume wise are: Molasses, Basi, Vinegar, Rise Wine (Arak), Bawang, Palay, Fish (Tilapia) and Imelda Frog. The Agriculture Department has started frog culture but they could not control the escape of tadpole from their pond. No wonder why big species of Imelda frog can be fished out in open field and farms.

Joint celebration of Gen. Ricarte Day in Batac

The Municipal Government of Batac, the Military Shrine Services and the Ricarte National Shrine jointly celebrated the 139th birth anniversary of General Artemio “Vibora” Ricarte, a patriot, soldier and teacher at the Ricarte National Shrine in Batac last October 20, 2005.

Commodore Rogelio A. Dayan, guest of honor and speaker represented by Atty. Mark Sulluen, Chief Claim and Pension Branch, Philippine Veterans Affair Office (pvao), spoke of heroism and gallantry of General Ricarte. “Celebrating the day is a moral obligation to us in order to pass on the good deeds of our heroes to the young ones for them to do the same from generation to generation. President Manuel Roxas ones said, “Malilimutan and Diyos ang panalangin ng mga tao kung ang mga tao ay makakalimot sa ating mga bayani”.

Mayor Jess Nalupta’s message caught the attention of the national figures and dignitaries who were around when he insists Batac as “THE HOME OF GREAT LEADERS”. All the Great Leaders from this town mentioned are all Rebels… Good Rebels… Rebels with cause…

Vicar General Greg Aglipay rebelled against Latin as medium religion; President Marcos rebelled against those who defy 1081; Gen. Ricarte rebelled against those who surrender in war; Governor Catalino Acosta rebelled against enemies who wanted him to surrender; Living Leaders are likewise rebels; President Ramos rebelled against terrorism; Senator Pimentel rebelled against corrupt officials; Senator Biazon rebelled against killings; former Congressman Simeon Marcos Valdez rebelled against non-performing officials; former Congressman/Director Mariano “Anno” Nalupta, Jr. rebelled against liar.

“ARAMID TI PAKAKITAAN”, kuna ti mayor.

The Military Shrine Services and the Ricarte National Shrine personnel in Batac expressed gratitude to Sangguniang Panlalawigan Da Vinci Crisostomo and Vice Governor Windell Chua for their philanthropic gesture of rehabilitating some vital parts of the park like repair of the benches, rewiring of electric connections and light effects, spotlights, ten concrete benches, reprinting of “NABIAG A NAPALABAS”. These among others add grandeur to the park giving attraction to viewers, promenades and land escape conscious people.

The municipal officials sought the attention of the shrine personnel about the status of the fourteen stalls unoccupied at the back of the shrine. Mayor Nalupta expressed concern of its seemingly un-attended, non-generating stock. Out of the seventeen stalls only three are occupied that would negate the municipality and the shrine services of revenue from the would be rentals or the fourteen stalls. The mayor proposes a measure to fill up the vacant stalls considering that the lot is still owned by the municipality.
